The Timanfaya National Park is a symbol of Lanzarote and its recent past marked by violent volcanic eruptions that around 1700 have shaken the island for more than 6 consecutive years. The results are obvious to any visitor to the island: black lava and craters whose concentration is highest in the south of the island, which is about 50km in the Park.
A visit to Timanfaya is unique in its kind, intended to remain in my heart for the power of nature here that you feel inextricably linked to the obstinacy of the man who stubbornly cultivated these lands.
The result is surreal images of craters, punctuated by a green vine covered a cheeky to a small circular walls made of lava stone and oriented in the direction of the wind.
